Woodland Circle is an artist residency held at the old country house of Sjötorpsängen in east Värmland. It was founded by Klara Bothén and Sara Elggren in 2014, and has so far been carried out every summer since then. It is a craft based, recurring residency in a rural area that once made up the southern end of the railway artery in the Bergslagen mining district.
Nowadays the place is quieter, but full of leftover fragments of other lives. This residency is about narration and organisation. About fermenting ideas and sharing physical and mythological spaces. The Woodland Circle is set out to becoming a space for new narrative structures.
